Technics collaborates with Automobili Lambhorgini on the SL-1200M7B, a special edition version of their SL-1200MK7.
Technics Lamborghini SL-1200M7B
There have been some classic collaborations through the years. Roland and Stones Throw. Chompi and Chase Bliss. Chocolate and peanut butter. And now Technics and Lamborghini.
The legendary Japanese electronics company has teamed up with the equally legendary Italian supercar manufacturer on the SL-1200M7B. A special edition of the direct drive SL-1200MK7 and SL-1210MK7 turntable models, the design is “inspired by Automobili Lamborghini’s iconic Y-shape pattern,” says Technics.
Three Fast Colours
The SL-1200M7B is identical in function to the basic SL-1200MK7/SL-1210MK7 models but with “Lamborghini DNA.” Accordingly, there are three different colours: orange, green and yellow. These are based on “the most iconic liveries of the Italian automotive super sports cars brand.”
Along with the turntable, your purchase includes some special gifts: a slipmat, two stickers with Automobili Lamborghini and Technics logos, and an original vinyl picture disc record. What’s on the record, you ask? Why, recordings of a Lamborghini V12-engine and the driving sounds of six different cars: 400GT 2+2, Miura SV, 25th Anniversary Countach, Diablo 6.0 SE, Murciélago LP 640 and Revuelto. That’s what.
“Sound is (a) characteristic element of the two brands,” says Automobili Lamborghini. “With the dynamic emotion provided by the engine sounds of Automobili Lamborghini and the rich audio experience presented by Technics’ audio solutions, both brands have sought to develop sounds that stimulate the customer. This collaboration was born from the commonalities between the brands’ concepts and sound-making initiatives.”
I don’t know how close those two things really are but it is a cool collab, that’s for sure.
