OnePlus launched the Nord CE 4 smartphone in the Indian market last month. The handset arrived as a mid-range offering with a 120Hz display, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, and a 5,500mAh battery. The Chinese tech giant is now reportedly working on an affordable variant of the handset. The new phone could launch as the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite. While the brand is yet to make any official announcement, the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite name is certified by IMDA.
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite is certified by Singapore’s IMDA regulatory authority
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite name has been certified by Singapore’s IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) certification agency. As spotted by MySmartPrice, the upcoming budget offering has been certified with the model number “CPH2621”. The equipment description of the device in the certification mentions “Mobile phone with 5G/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC”.
Unfortunately, the certification hasn’t revealed anything else regarding the specifications of the purported OnePlus Nord CE 4 LIte. We do know that the OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite will succeed last year’s Nord CE 3 Lite.
The Nord CE 4 Lite could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset
Last month, the gadget tipster Yogesh Brar leaked the chipset for the upcoming CE 4 Lite handset. The tipster claimed that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC. To compare, the Nord CE 3 Lite has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset.
As for the other features, the rumor mill indicates that the Nord CE 4 Lite will offer a 6.67-inch display. The device could offer a full HD+ AMOLED display panel with a maximum refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The new budget Nord CE series offering is likely to have a dual camera setup at the rear. The handset could have a 50MP main shooter and a 2MP secondary snapper.
For selfies and video calling, we can expect a 16MP shooter onboard the phone. The smartphone could pack a massive 5,500mAh battery. The device is expected to offer 80W fast charging technology. Software-wise, the phone could come with Android 14 out of the box. The company will offer at least two years of major Android updates and three years of security updates.
Since the CE 4 Lite is certified by a major regulator, we can expect an imminent launch to be on the cards. We will bring you more information as soon as it unfolds, so stay tuned for regular updates.
