REDMAGIC is just a week out from having announced the international availability of its first official gaming laptop, the Titan 16 Pro, and now the company is already throwing out teaser images of its next gaming device called the Gaming Pad.
As one might guess, the Gaming Pad is bringing REDMAGIC back to its staple line of products which is in the mobile space. Several years ago REDMAGIC entered the mobile market with a dream. To offer high-end performance in a gaming phone that didn’t cost nearly as much money as competitors. It has without a doubt achieved that dream. So now it’s moving on to the next area where it feels the market is lacking. Gaming tablets.
REDMAGIC wouldn’t be the first company to release a gaming tablet. However, gaming tablets aren’t something you see very often. So if there’s a chance REDMAGIC can fill that void, you can bet the company is going to take the chance to be at the forefront. Gaming tablets may not be common but gaming on a tablet happens quite a lot. In fact, the iPad is commonly used for playing some of the most demanding mobile games out there. Such as Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S line is in a similar position. Being one of the only truly high-end Android tablets on the market. Therein lies another area REDMAGIC can capitalize on. There just aren’t very many Android tablet options in general. Let alone ones that are catered towards top-tier performance for mobile gaming.
The REDMAGIC Gaming Pad teaser confirms two sizes
The teaser for the REDMAGIC Gaming Pad doesn’t say much. That doesn’t mean there’s not a story to tell. There are absolutely zero specifics about the Gaming Pad when it comes to specs details. However, there are two things the teaser does confirm. One is the date and time of REDMAGIC’s official announcement about the tablet. Based on the teaser, REDMAGIC plans to announce this new device on September 5 at 3 PM Beijing time. That just so happens to be next week Thursday so there is only about a week and a half left before all the major details about this device are revealed.
The other notable confirmation is that the Gaming Pad will come in two sizes. It’s not clear exactly what the sizes are. That being said, one is likely to be around 7 or 8 inches and the other is probably a 10-inch model. This would put the larger version squarely in line with what Samsung offers for the larger Galaxy Tab S tablets. While also offering something more portable for those who just want something bigger than their smartphone.
The Gaming Pad will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
The only other detail about the tablet that seems to be confirmed at this time is its chipset. The Gaming Pad will reportedly be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This is hardly surprising, as REDMAGIC already uses this chipset in its most recent gaming phone. So it stands to reason the Gaming Pad would use the same. This specific detail comes from a separate teaser from the image where two people from the REDMAGIC team show off the Gaming Pad box in a video.
In that video, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is mentioned. With Qualcomm’s ultra-powerful mobile chipset at play here, it’s highly likely the Gaming Pad will also come with some hefty RAM and storage size options. If we had to guess, the Gaming Pad will probably come with at least 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of storage. With potential options at 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. More will be detailed about this tablet toward the end of next week.
