FreeHand Universal Headrest™

Baby Carrier Headrest

The Universal Headrest™ is a fantastic solution for a sleeping baby in any baby carrier. These sleek, compact headrests are easy to use, comfortable, and work with any two-shouldered baby carrier.  The Universal Headrest™ can also be helpful if your baby becomes overstimulated and needs a break from the outside world. And no more worrying about little baby necks!

Q: Does this work with my baby carrier?
A: The Universal Headrest™ will work with any two-shouldered baby carrier! It will not work with ring slings or pouches.

Q: Is it breathable for my baby? What is the fabric made of?
A: The fabric is similar to athletic mesh fabric, and is extremely lightweight and breathable. Black headrests are made of 100% polyester. White headrests are made of 75% recycled material that blocks 95% of the UVA and 97% of the UVB rays of the sun. The thread used to weave the fabric for the Universal Headrest™ starts its life as a plastic bottle. Recycled bottles are ground up into tiny pieces, melted, and spun into thread. In the case of the Universal Headrest™, 25% virgin material is added to the recycled material to make sure that the fabric is strong and vibrant. The thread is infused with a UV repellent, which blocks 95% of the suns rays.

Once the fabric is woven, it goes through several tests; one for sun protection (the UPF is tested according to AATCC183, ASTM D6544, and ASTM D6603) and one for Oeko-Tex certification (http://www.oeko-tex1000.com/uk/main/index.asp?IDMain=17&IDSub=106&sid ). Once the fabric has passed all of these tests, it is delivered to TogetherBe in Denver, Colorado, where a local work-at-home mom seamstress crafts it into the Universal Headrest™. The final product is fully inspected by the mom who sewed it, and then again by Cathy, our Warehouse Manager here at TogetherBe. If the product passes all of these tests, it is packaged and shipped to customers. Whew!
