Want to take your baby out in the sunshine, without worrying about sun damage and harsh chemical sunscreens? Now you can protect your little sunbeam from the sun’s harmful rays, with the Peekaru Ozone™.
Your baby will be shaded, safe, and stylish underneath this uniquely designed cover; which fits over any soft baby carrier, standard car seat or stroller. The super soft, moisture-wicking fabric blocks 95% of the sun’s UVA and UVB rays while keeping your baby cool and comfortable.
The Peekaru Ozone™ fits babies from birth through two years. The hood protects tiny heads, while the adjustable bottom cinches up for use with a small baby, and lets out to accommodate your baby’s legs as they grow.
The Peekaru Ozone™ is made from 75% recycled material that is OekoTex certified to be free of any chemicals, metal or phthalates, so you can be confident that nothing toxic is touching your baby. Manufactured in the USA and made of material milled in the USA, the Peekaru Ozone™ is available in White, with a choice of trim thread colors: green, gray or brown.
Q: Does this work with my baby carrier?
A: Yes! The Peekaru Ozone has been tested with wraps, mei tai’s, and soft-structured carriers (such as the FreeHand, Ergo, Boba, and Beco). It does not work with a pouch or ring sling.
Q: What kind of sun protection does the Ozone offer and what is it made out of?
A: The Peekaru Ozone blocks 95% of the UVA and 97% of the UVB rays of the sun. The thread used to weave the fabric for the Peekaru Ozone starts its life as a plastic bottle. The PET bottle is most commonly used to hold water or soft drinks. After the liquid is consumed, the bottle is recycled. This bottle is then ground up into tiny pieces, melted, and spun into thread. In the case of the Peekaru Ozone, 25% virgin material is added to the recycled material to make sure that the fabric is strong and vibrant. The thread is infused with a UV repellent, which blocks 95% of the suns rays.
Once the fabric is woven, it goes through several tests; one for sun protection (the UPF is tested according to AATCC183, ASTM D6544, and ASTM D6603) and one for Oeko-Tex certification (http://www.oeko-tex1000.com/uk/main/index.asp?IDMain=17&IDSub=106&sid ). After testing, it is inspected for flaws and inconsistencies. Once the fabric has passed all of these tests, it is delivered to TogetherBe in Denver, Colorado. After being cut at a local facility, it is taken to a work-at-home mom, who crafts it into the Peekaru Ozone. The final product is fully inspected by the mom who sewed it, and then again by Cathy, our Warehouse Manager here at TogetherBe. If the product passes all of these tests, it is packaged and shipped to customers. Whew!
Q: Will this fit my toddler?
A: YES! The Peekaru Ozone has been tested with babies up to 2 years old. The adjustable bottom allows the Ozone to grow with your baby!
