Q: What size should I buy?
A: The Peekaru Original™ is sized to fit the adult wearing it. Like any other item of clothing, you can wear it as loose or tight as you like and it can shared with someone who is within about 20 lbs of you. The sizing is standard, so if you normally wear a size medium shirt, a size medium Peekaru will fit you. The Peekaru Original™ is made out of fleece so there is quite a bit of stretch. Please buy your pre-pregnancy size, as the Peekaru will help flatter your new baby body, and will most likely stretch to fit. Due to the unique design of the Peekaru Original™, the most important measurement is across your shoulders and around your armpit. The size of your breasts and hips do not usually matter in the sizing.

Q: Will this be warm enough?
A: Everyone has a different body temperature, however, we have found that the Peekaru Original™ works best between about 60° F and 30° F. When it’s colder than 40° F, you can add your coat over the vest to keep your arms warm. The unique design of the Peekaru Original™ ensures that you will be sharing body heat with your baby, and you know how hot that gets! So keep in mind that it’s not just your temperature, but the shared heat between you and your baby that will help keep you both warm. The Peekaru Original™ is much warmer than a traditional carrier cover because no heat is being lost through the sides or top, and you are sharing heat with your baby.

Q: Will the Peekaru Original™ work in the snow and/or rain?
A: The Peekaru Original™ is made from Polartec Fleece, which is moisture wicking fabric. Moisture wicking is a fancy way of saying that if it’s pouring rain, you will probably get damp; however if it’s snowing or raining lightly, the moisture will ball up and stay on the outside of the Peekaru Original™ keeping the inside dry and warm.

Q:  That’s a funny looking baby carrier!
A:  Well, this isn’t really a question, and the Peekaru Original™ isn’t a baby carrier!  It’s a cover, that goes over your favorite baby carrier.  Think of it as the icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

Q: Why doesn’t the Peekaru Original™ have sleeves?
A: The Peekaru Original™ was specifically created without sleeves because it was designed in Colorado, where we layer. The vest is an integral part of the Colorado mountain wardrobe because it allows you to wear a t-shirt or a sweater underneath it, or with an outer layer (coat) without having big, bunchy sleeves. A: In the USA!! The Peekaru Original™ is made in the USA, out of material also made in the USA.

Q: Please explain the 85% recycled material bit?
A: Fleece is made by spinning plastic into thread. The thread used in the Peekaru Original is spun from recycled 2 liter soda bottles. In fact, there are about 25 two-liter soda bottles in each Peekaru Original! If you’ve ever wondered where the bottles you recycle actually go: they get cleaned, melted, and spun into ridiculously soft material to keep you and your baby warm!! SO, thank you for recycling!

Q: Do you ship internationally and how much does it cost?
A: Yes, we ship internationally. We charge exact shipping costs that the Post Office charges us. This price is usually between $35 and $55 USD depending on where you are. One thing to keep in mind when ordering internationally is there may be fees, taxes or duties associated with importing any of our products. We are unable to know what these fees are, and you are wholly responsible for them. It is usually less expensive to buy from a store in your country.
